The Vision of Perishing souls shown to Apostle Numbere (Founding Father of GEWC) had three levels, Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the World.

In fulfillment of this mandate, a fellowship was formally inaugurated on 24th July 2016, in Brother Moka Crepen Yarou’s house located in Yopougon, Abidjan. Yopougon is the most populous community in Abidjan.

Brother Moka is an Ivorian who was trained in Nigeria in 2015 and sent back home with a mandate to establish the Ministry in Côte d’Ivoire. The Chief Missions Coordinator, Evangelist Victor Ejimadu was present for this landmark event.

Preaching from 1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” he said, “Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Côte d’Ivoire is born of God and even though it is starting in parlour, she will come through and overcome”.

We trust God to give increase to this seed that has been planted, as we lift up the faces of people to Jesus even in Côte d’Ivoire.

The International Director, Pastor Isaac Olori in his usual manner, paid an unscheduled visit to Olanada Church, Port Harcourt on the 17th of July, 2016, together with his wife, Pastor Mrs. Blessing Olori.

In his brief speech, he challenged the Church to always come with at least one soul to church every Sunday. He reminded them of the calamity in the world and the need to go out for souls because people die every day without knowing if they were going to heaven or hell.

Pastor Isaac Olori stressed that the happenings in the world should push us to reach out to people. He further gave a brief exhortation from  Isaiah 40:27-31, excerpts of which are below:

27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

We are in a time of global emergency and no nation is free from calamity. It is not a time to complain but a time to awake and put on our strength.  As iniquity abounds, so also grace abounds. This is the time to reach out to souls because whatever calamity that is being faced now, cannot be compared to the calamity when they face hell.

“For they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”. God gives power to the faint, He increases strength and so we should all turn to Him, the place of our strength.  It is a time to pray and call upon the name of the Lord. The pressures you face today are aimed at wearing you out spiritually and most of us are worn out already but if you wait upon the Lord, your strength shall be renewed. When you wait upon the Lord, you will mount up on wings like eagles that means He gives you "wings" to go above your situation.

This is not a time to faint but you will only survive the situation if you wait upon the Lord. It is a time to pray and begin to let your light shine around you! Renew your strength, so you can use the situation as an instrument for evangelism.

Finally, this is a time of global calamity, the devil is a hurry to harvest souls for  hell and we Christians should also be in a hurry to harvest souls for heaven.

Greater Evangelism World Crusade

Greater Evangelism World Crusade is an Evangelical Ministry set up by God in 1972 through Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere (of blessed Memory). It has it's headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria. On Saturday, 9th of September 1972, in the course of an all-night prayer meeting, in Port Harcourt with some young believers, the Ministry of Greater Evangelism Crusade was born. Apostle Numbere heard the name; “GREATER EVANGELISM CRUSADE” repeated a number of times by the Lord in his ears. Some days later the Lord gave the motto, “TO KNOW JESUS AND TO MAKE JESUS KNOWN” to Apostle Numbere. And precisely on the 6th of December 1972, he was on his knees praying when the Lord gave him the emblem of the Ministry – the globe (the world) with the cross spanning it and dropping on Africa with Nigeria in the center.

Since then the Ministry has grown, reaching communities, villages, States and Countries for Christ.

Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere (Founding Father)

Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere was the founder of Greater Evangelism World Crusade. Called of God and commissioned an Apostle by Him, he had for over 45 years taken the Gospel to many countries of Africa, USA and the far East. He pioneered indigenous Pentecostal evangelism in the North and in the old Rivers State (now Rivers and Bayelsa States of Nigeria). Amidst much opposition and persecution, many hardships and trials, he took the gospel to the downtrodden, under-privileged, forgotten, sometimes very remote dangerous communities of the numerous islands ad villages of Rivers and Bayelsa States.

Apostle Geoffrey D. Numbere was a second year Geology student in the University of Ife, Ibadan Campus when he became miraculously born again on the 11th of May 1969 after a sermon by Rev. Mike Oye the then Travelling Secretary of Scripture Union, who had been invited to preach in the chapel that Sunday through the instrumentality of the President of the campus’ Christian Union, Philip Olurinola, (then Ogunrinola).

On Tuesday, 3rd March 1970, God showed him a vision of perishing souls. His heart went out to those souls he saw in the vision. He kept on seeing those crowds over and over again. He thought of the millions and millions of people who did not know the Lord Jesus Christ. Every ambition he had in this life paled and died before this vision. He abandoned all, including his education for the Lord’s work.

He was also a Bible teacher and has affected many lives through his books, newspaper articles and his weekly television and radio programmes "Caught Up". He was the pioneer Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) South-South Zone.

Apostle Geoffrey Numbere got married in 1980 to Pastor Dr. Nonyem Eziamaka Numbere who is the President, Greater Evangelism Women Fellowship International and they are blessed with five children and five grandchildren. Pastor Nonyem Numbere is a medical doctor, a Bible teacher, Conference Speaker, author and also the overseer of the Children, Teenagers, Students and the Youth wings of the Ministry.

Pastor Isaac Olori (International Director, GEWC)

On 15th October 2014, Apostle Geoffrey Numbere was called home to be with the Lord. Before this, he had named his successor as Pastor Isaac Olori and on December 14th, 2014, Pastor Isaac Olori, succeeded Apostle Numbere as the International Director of Greater Evangelism World Crusade.

Pastor Isaac Olori's encounter with Christ started in 1977 when he came in contact with Greater Evangelism World Crusade then as a Secondary School student, but he completely surrendered his life to Christ in 1982 while in his second year in the University. He obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Agricultural Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.

While in school he served among others as the Chairman of the Students’ Executive management committee of the University chapel (Chapel of Redemption). He also served as a Corper traveling Secretary with the Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) during his National Youth Service (NYSC) and Associate Traveling Secretary with NIFES for several years.

Pastor Olori was ordained a Pastor in 1996 and a Teacher in 2009 by our father, Apostle G.D. Numbere of blessed memory.  He had served in different capacities in the Ministry including; Sunday School Superintendent, Secretary of Sunday School Editorial Board, Secretary of Kumran Bible College Board, Assistant Pastor, Senior Pastor, Zonal Minister, Secretary of the Rivers State Council of Ministers (GEWC), Registrar of Caught-Up School of Ministry, etc.

Pastor Isaac Olori was a lecturer with the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Port Harcourt for over 20 years where he rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer.  He served as Head of Department and Assistant Director among other positions then as a lecturer.

He is married to Pastor Mrs. Blessing Olori (Vice President, Greater Evangelism Women Fellowship International) and they are blessed with four children.

This month in history, a sinner was miraculously saved by grace and it set in motion, the mustard seed that would grow into a great commission called Greater Evangelism World Crusade.

Once I was blind, but now I can see

Once I was bound, but now I am free

That's how I know there's a Savior for me

Oh, such a Savior!

The above song, one of Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere’s (Founding Father, GEWC) favorites, is a summary of what God did in his life on Sunday 11th May 1969. That unforgettable Sunday, 11th May, 1969 was like any other Sunday. Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere, a second year Geology student in the University of Ife, Ibadan Campus, was like any other young student on Campus. He was completely and totally oblivious that God had His eye on him and that even the names he bore were like a stamp on him on his future.

He became miraculously born again on the 11th of May 1969 after a sermon by Rev. Mike Oye the then Traveling Secretary of Scripture Union, who had been invited to preach in the chapel that Sunday through the instrumentality of the President of the campusChristian Union, Philip Olurinola, (then Ogunrinola).

Apostle G. D. Numbere, while on earth, never celebrated his natural birthday rather, he celebrated 11th of May which was the day he became born again. This year, he would have turned 47 years in the Lord, but the Lord chose to call him home on 15th October 2014.

We celebrate the power of God to save a man. We celebrate God’s mercy and pardon that was multiplied to him and through him, thousands have been saved.

Apostle Numbere was a man greatly used by God in ministry. Like David, having served his generation, by the will of God, he fell asleep. He left behind many inspired sermons, teachings and manuscripts of books he had written. Volume 1 was published at the time of his burial. One year after, this second volume has been compiled as a memorial for a true servant of God who gave up all he had to go out to the field to harvest souls for the Kingdom of God.

This manual captures the salient nature and the crux for which the Son of God left His throne in heaven and came down for the sole purpose of seeking and saving that which was lost. (Luke 19:10). It reveals the very heartbeat of God and how to experience the unprecedented flow and power of the Holy Ghost in your daily work with him. It outlines innovative and result orientated principles on soul winning and follow up. It would broaden your horizon on new, effective and faster ways to go about the Great Commission.

At the very beginning of one’s spiritual experience, a most wonderful thing happens: he is a new creation “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) - a star is born! but that is only the beginning. Growth and development must follow, and we are therefore commanded to “Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18) As we grow and develop, a new light and new revelation will follow. our Lord Himself promised: “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine” (John 7:17).

“…but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:21) Daddy as we called him, was a true servant of God. He was a sound bible teacher and his insight into the Scriptures was unparalleled. Every time he spoke, he brought out truths and revelations from the Word of God to the edification of his listeners. He was also well rounded and always current on events happening around him. Before he was called home by God, he instructed us to ensure all his manuscripts are published and that would be the media through which the Lord would restore His Church. This compilation is the first of several volumes to come. May you be blessed as you read through in Jesus Name, Amen.

This book contains quotes of Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere during his life time. They contain deep truths and when expounded are sermons in themselves. Daddy will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew him or heard his sermons. I pray these statements would transform your lives in Jesus Name. AMEN.

“UNFORGIVENESS” is a cancerworm that has eaten deep into the lives of individuals, in homes, in society as well as in the Church. “UNFORGIVENESS” is a bait which Satan uses to trap people especially Chrisians. “I FORGIVE, FOR MY SAKE” is another way of highlighting the Lord’s Prayer as taught in Matthew 6:12, “FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS”.
