Pastor Isaac Olori visits his Alma mater, Rivers State College of Arts and Science (RIVCAS)
01 Aug 2016Pastor Isaac V. Olori, International Director, GEWC visited the Rivers State College of Arts and Science (RIVCAS) on 24th June 2016.
It was like a trip down memory lane as the College was his last place of employment before his appointment as the International Director of Greater Evangelism World Crusade. The School held a 3-day Corporate Prayer and Fasting meeting tagged: God of All Possibilities with Pastor Isaac Olori as the Guest Speaker. The latter appreciated the Rector and Management of the college for the invitation. He expressed his excitement about what God is doing and affirmed that the School remains his constituency.
The College of Arts and Science had been operating as a Polytechnic but had not yet been given it's proper status officially, hence the call for prayers. Speaking on the topic: God of all Possibilities (Matthew 16:19), Pastor Isaac Olori described prayer as one of the greatest resources a person can find on earth. In his words, “Prayer moves the spiritual and the physical. As a man learns how to pray and pray aright, he comes to realize that prayer is a tool to make possibilities happen.”
He explained further the story of Saul in 1 Samuel 9. Referring to the College, he said, “It seems your name was lost, you have been operating as a polytechnic but not answering the name. I want to declare to you today that, that missing ass is found. The story of this College from this day onward will change. The justice of prayer that we will release in this meeting will not only give you the name you are looking for, but will put the desire of the Government upon this place. Those infrastructural developments and so many other things you are looking for you will begin to see."
Referring to Esther, who fasted and prayed to achieve deliverance for Israel and also Elijah, who prayed and controlled rain in Israel (James 5:16 - 18), he iterated that when you give yourself truly to prayers, you will receive answers, stressing that there is a spiritual "dynamite" that is released when a righteous man prays because the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Pastor Isaac Olori admonished everyone that their lives should change as well because the purpose of the solemn assembly was also for repentance. Praying for them he said, "I pray that God will not only change this College to a Polytechnic but you too will be lifted. By the reason of the prayers that have been made here these three days, those principalities, powers and dominions that are contending will bow in the Name of Jesus Christ and as I join my faith with yours, the impossible will become possible."
Update:
God answered these prayers as Rivers State College of Arts and Science (RIVCAS) was officially declared a Polytechnic on Monday, 4 July 2016. It is now known as The Port Harcourt Polytechnic (PortPoly or Port Harcourt Poly).
The International Director, Pastor Isaac Olori in his usual manner, paid an unscheduled visit to Olanada Church, Port Harcourt on the 17th of July, 2016, together with his wife, Pastor Mrs. Blessing Olori.
In his brief speech, he challenged the Church to always come with at least one soul to church every Sunday. He reminded them of the calamity in the world and the need to go out for souls because people die every day without knowing if they were going to heaven or hell.
Pastor Isaac Olori stressed that the happenings in the world should push us to reach out to people. He further gave a brief exhortation from Isaiah 40:27-31, excerpts of which are below:
27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
We are in a time of global emergency and no nation is free from calamity. It is not a time to complain but a time to awake and put on our strength. As iniquity abounds, so also grace abounds. This is the time to reach out to souls because whatever calamity that is being faced now, cannot be compared to the calamity when they face hell.
“For they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”. God gives power to the faint, He increases strength and so we should all turn to Him, the place of our strength. It is a time to pray and call upon the name of the Lord. The pressures you face today are aimed at wearing you out spiritually and most of us are worn out already but if you wait upon the Lord, your strength shall be renewed. When you wait upon the Lord, you will mount up on wings like eagles that means He gives you "wings" to go above your situation.
This is not a time to faint but you will only survive the situation if you wait upon the Lord. It is a time to pray and begin to let your light shine around you! Renew your strength, so you can use the situation as an instrument for evangelism.
Finally, this is a time of global calamity, the devil is a hurry to harvest souls for hell and we Christians should also be in a hurry to harvest souls for heaven.
This month in history, a sinner was miraculously saved by grace and it set in motion, the mustard seed that would grow into a great commission called Greater Evangelism World Crusade.
Once I was blind, but now I can see
Once I was bound, but now I am free
That's how I know there's a Savior for me
Oh, such a Savior!
The above song, one of Apostle Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere’s (Founding Father, GEWC) favorites, is a summary of what God did in his life on Sunday 11th May 1969. That unforgettable Sunday, 11th May, 1969 was like any other Sunday. Geoffrey Dabibi Numbere, a second year Geology student in the University of Ife, Ibadan Campus, was like any other young student on Campus. He was completely and totally oblivious that God had His eye on him and that even the names he bore were like a stamp on him on his future.
He became miraculously born again on the 11th of May 1969 after a sermon by Rev. Mike Oye the then Traveling Secretary of Scripture Union, who had been invited to preach in the chapel that Sunday through the instrumentality of the President of the campus’ Christian Union, Philip Olurinola, (then Ogunrinola).
Apostle G. D. Numbere, while on earth, never celebrated his natural birthday rather, he celebrated 11th of May which was the day he became born again. This year, he would have turned 47 years in the Lord, but the Lord chose to call him home on 15th October 2014.
We celebrate the power of God to save a man. We celebrate God’s mercy and pardon that was multiplied to him and through him, thousands have been saved.

The Youth they say, are the leaders of tomorrow, the backbone of any organization. Hence, neglecting them, is to neglect the future.
As part of Pastor Isaac Olori's (International Director, GEWC) itinerary for the year 2016, he and his team paid a maiden visit to the Churches in Abuja and its environs.
The 2016 May Healing Service held on 22nd May 2016 at the Greater Evangelism World Crusade, World Headquarters, Rukpoku, Port Harcourt.
We were not done thanking God for His great works in the last Healing Service, only to be marvelled by greater things this Service. Just to recount a few: in the May Healing Service Sis. Destiny was healed of a chronic ulcer that had lasted for two years; God also delivered Sis. Leebari and her kids from stray bullets on their way from school. The armed robbers shot several bullets that smashed their car, but none touched them. God's divine provision was also evident in Sis Kelechi's testimony, as she had vowed towards the building project despite having no available finances, but God in HIS usual manner provided for her - more than three times the amount she vowed.
The sermon this time was "Persistent Faith", with Luke 18:1-8 as reference text. God’s word by His Servant, Pastor Isaac Olori, was clear and concise. One of the striking points during this sermon was that God searches for persistent faith in His children, therefore, if we would survive in our faith we should be persistent. He stressed that prayer must be accompanied by persistent faith.
Addressing “Die by Fire” prayers, he said, as Christians, our enemy is the Devil (1 Peter 5:8) and not our fellow human beings. Even though we understand that human beings can be agents of the devil, it is wrong doctrine to pray that any human being should die because they are only agents. Their death would not stop the work of the devil, who would only look for another agent to inhabit.
The widow, from our reference text, was faced with a difficult situation - her adversaries on one hand and the unkind judge on the other, but she did not deter. She chose to handle her situation by developing persistent faith, backed up with consistent prayer. She also handled her situation by developing a bold heart, refusing to be intimidated either by the nature of the judge nor her other adversaries. Finally, she was steadfast (1 Peter 5:9).
The sermon also brought to the fore the strategy of the enemy to use several challenges like bitterness/malice/anger, wrong doctrine via false churches and physical, to get us weary concerning the things of God. We must bear in mind that as Christians, our life is a battle and we must not take prayer, bible study, discipleship and other spiritual activities casually, lest we fall prey to the devil. It is pertinent that we know that the enemy tries to put fear in our heart in order to intimidate us, but we must be bold and sound in our mind, believing God's word, to be able to confront him. The force of persistent faith and importunate prayer will stop every adamant situation and it takes a man who is steadfast in his faith to resist the devil.
We must consciously put away every form of fear and worry, because God who is our judge is kind, loving, forgiving, longsuffering and will avenge our case even though HE bears long with us.However, to qualify for HIS intervention in your situation you must be HIS own elect (Ephesians 1:4, 1 Peter 2:10) and cry to Him day and night being persistent in following Him.
Indeed God’s steadfastness cannot be fathomed. He blesses us with the blessings of His presence all the time that our mouth is constantly filled with testimonies and our hearts filled with gladness that cannot be properly expressed.
The International Director, Pastor Isaac Olori made several visits in Bayelsa State in July. Highlights are below:
Proverbs 18:24b which says “…there's a friend that sticks closer than a brother”, aptly describes Pastor Jim and Diana Pierce.
